ERERVIEW OF HIRING/FIRING WORKERS IN KENYACCCLICK CCC
DESCRIPTION:

As multi-national companies open new offices around the world, they need to comply with local labor and employment laws when hiring and/or firing workers.  While some hiring practices may be comparable across jurisdictions, others may include complex legal requirements that are not difficult to meet as long as the employer understands upfront what is required.

Speakers in both webinars will provide an overview of the most important legal requirements when hiring and/or firing new employees, including:

  • What terms must be included in the employment contract?
  • Do offers of employment typically include:
    • Non-discrimination clauses
    • Probation period
  • Are non-competes enforceable?
  • Are there mandatory benefits by law?
  • Do benefits differ by job level?
  • What happens when the employment relationship doesn’t work out?
  • How are reductions in force, redundancies and layoffs handled?
  • The process and dispute resolution options available if firing is:
    • A result of downsizing because of economic problems
    • A summary dismissal
  • Obtaining work and resident permits for expatriate workers
