July 8, 2024 | Edward W. Snetsinger

Bill C-58, An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code and the Canada Industrial Relations Board Regulations, received royal assent on June 20, 2024 and will come into force on June 20, 2025.  As discussed in our November 20, 2023 Legislative Update, Bill C-58 will amend the Canada Labour Code (CLC)[1] to limit the use of replacement workers and implement an expedited process for maintenance of activities agreements. These changes apply only to federally regulated employers governed by the CLC.
