C. W. Hyun, senior partner at Kim & Chang, graduated from Seoul National University (law school) in 1976 and became a member of the Korean Bar Association in 1978, after which he received an L.L.M. from Harvard Law School, joined the New York Bar Association in 1988, and worked with Sullivan & Cromwell (1987-1988). He has been an attorney at Kim & Chang since 1981, where he currently heads the employment/labor law team of over 30 professionals and also is extensively involved with mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate restructuring issues. He has managed and supported some of the largest transactions to take place in Korea from labor and corporate law perspectives, particularly during the period of significant foreign investment since 1997. In balance with his substantial professional endeavors, he continues to contribute significantly to professional organizations in Korea through holding positions such as Chair of American Chamber of Commerce's HR Committee, legal counsel for the Ministry of Labor, and Vice-President of the Harvard Club of Korea.
