Arcelia is a Senior Associate at Ellul & Cruz. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in July 2014 and then to the Gibraltar Bar in September 2023. She is a versatile lawyer who has assisted people from diverse backgrounds in a conscientious and diligent manner.
During her time in England, she focused mainly on complex litigation matters and high value claims in respect of commercial disputes, mortgage mis-selling, credit hire and personal injury claims (mainly cases involving catastrophic injuries), representing both Claimants and Defendants.
Arcelia’s current practice is diverse, mainly focusing on litigation, dispute resolution and employment matters, although she still does some commercial and private client work. Arcelia does some criminal work and is on the Gibraltar Legal Aid list.
Arcelia often appears before the Supreme Court of Gibraltar in complex litigation hearings. In her administrative and employment law practice, Arcelia usually acts for employers and Public Bodies such as the Gibraltar Health Authority. Arcelia has been involved in some high profile cases such as the public inquiry into the circumstances of the resignation of the Commissioner of Police where she acted for the Royal Gibraltar Police.
Arcelia is bi-cultural having been born in Venezuela and educated in England. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
