Karen Fulton is an employment lawyer based in Johannesburg. She qualified as an attorney in 1991 and was made a partner of Bowmans in 1993.
Karen’s clients are primarily major multinationals and financial institutions in South Africa. She is known in the financial services sector for advising on a variety of strategic employment issues. She specialises in all aspects of South African employment law, in particular, exiting executive employees, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, BEE, bonus disputes, restraints of trade, unfair dismissal and unfair labour practice claims, unfair discrimination, sexual harassment, boardroom disputes, cross-border contracts and contracts for executives.
Karen’s articles have been published in the Financial Mail, the Business Day and the Sunday Times. Karen has sat as a judge in the Labour Court and is a mediator and arbitrator on the Tokiso panel. Karen was the first woman to sit on Bowmans' executive committee.
