Award Recognizes Commitment to the Global Law Firm Network

The Employment Law Alliance (ELA), the world’s largest network of labor, employment and immigration attorneys, recently honored Francisca Corti of Chile-based law firm Carey as its “Sheldon N. Sandler Award” recipient.

The “Sheldon N. Sandler Award” recognizes members of the ELA who have made “extraordinary and lasting contributions to the organization.” It is named in honor of attorney and long-time contributor Sheldon (“Shel”) N. Sandler, of Delaware member firm Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP and is bestowed annually.

“Francisca has done a phenomenal job in doing what we wanted for our Next Gens - to reinvigorate the organization, to bring in some new blood and fresh ideas," said Stephen J. Hirschfeld, Founder and CEO of the Employment Law Alliance. "Her thoughtfulness and enthusiasm is contagious. Her passion and love of the organization is something you can't fake."

Francisca Corti is on the Global Business Development Team on the ELA and is the Next Gen Regional Chair for Latin America. She is also one of the hosts for the ELA's Spanish podcast channel, Asuntos Laborales. She has presented on multiple webinars for the ELA and consistently assists in event planning for the region.

She advises national and multinational companies on matters such as hiring and termination of employees, HR policies and procedures, employee benefit plans, subcontracting and outsourcing, consulting contracts and non-competition agreements, employment matters in restructurings, M&As, labor due diligence processes and labor audits, internal investigations, treatment of expatriates, and processing of work permits and visas.

“For me, it has been a very great experience participating in the committees as Chair, the Business Development Committee, [being] in charge of the podcasts, and also in the Next Gen committee has been great. I think this is the idea of the ELA, how we support each other, and how we make the networking grow. I am really happy to be involved,” said Corti.
