Organization Increases its Presence in Emerging Markets in the Caribbean and Eastern Europe

The Employment Law Alliance (ELA), the world’s largest network of labor, employment and immigration attorneys, has added three new member firms to its roster of more than 130 law firms worldwide – BBV Legal (Curaçao), Dinova Rusev & Partners (Bulgaria) and Lex Caribbean (Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago).

“The Caribbean and Eastern Europe are two growth regions for the global economy, punctuated by the Caribbean’s emerging role as a hub for the financial services and hospitality industries,” said Stephen J. Hirschfeld, founder and CEO of the Employment Law Alliance. “These new member firms bolster our best-in-class roster of legal resources for multi-jurisdictional and multi-national employers.”

BBV Legal, based in Willemstad, Curaçao, provides legal services to local and international corporate entities, governments, private clients and non-profit institutions. Its attorneys advise and litigate in matters within all areas of civil and administrative law and are known for employing a personal approach when handling cases.

Co-founding Partner and ELA member attorney William ten Veen is a thought leader who frequently lectures on labor law at the Foundation for Professional Training for Attorneys and has authored a labor law column for Amigoe, the largest Dutch newspaper in the Netherlands Antilles, since 2006.

“There simply is no substitute for the ELA’s global reach and its outstanding, well-vetted, roster of labor, employment and immigration attorneys,” said ten Veen. “We are proud to help expand this organization’s reach and depth of client offerings.”

Dinova Rusev & Partners is a 19-attorney Sofia, Bulgaria-based full service law firm providing companies and individuals with offerings across eight practice areas.

The Chambers & Partners-ranked firm prides itself on providing results-oriented and personalized advice of an exceptionally high standard in a time- and cost-efficient manner.

“The ELA provides unique and synergistic benefits. Dinova Rusev & Partners clients gain access to a global knowledge base and to resources they need as multi-national entities. In turn, our fellow ELA member firms can now utilize our lawyers for on-the-ground answers,” said Anelia Dinova, managing and co-founding partner of Dinova Rusev & Partners.

Lex Caribbean, with offices in Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and London, is a 17-year old pan-Caribbean law firm. The firm provides multidisciplinary client offerings across six practice areas. Its clients include major banks and financial institutions in Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Jamaica, in addition to many of the Caribbean’s regional financial institutions. Lex Caribbean also frequently advises international banks operating in the region on major project and trade finance transactions.

“The ELA is the perfect partner for Lex Caribbean, providing the firm and its clients exposure and access to a worldwide network,” said Marjorie Nunez, country managing partner of Lex Caribbean’s Trinidad and Tobago practice.
