The Employment Law Alliance (ELA), the world’s largest network of labor, employment and immigration attorneys, adds four member firms – Garrigues in Spain, Sattar&Co. in Bangladesh, SRS Advogados in Portugal and Vidan Law Office in Croatia.

“Membership in the ELA allows our firm to tap into one of the largest, most respected firm networks in the world – expanding our knowledge base, employment and immigration law resources, and client offerings nationally and internationally,” said Hrvoje Vidan, partner of Vidan Law Office.

Sameer Sattar, founder of Sattar&Co. added, “To be selected for inclusion is an honor and a testament to our firm’s own success and reputation globally.”

Garrigues is Continental Europe’s leading law firm in terms of billings and professional headcount. Based in Madrid, Spain, its team is made up of more than 1,500 lawyers and it boasts a huge labor department of more than 240 employment lawyers. Garrigues, recognized among the “Top 10 Most Innovative Law Firms in Europe” by the Financial Times (2013), is one of the only three Continental European law firms ranked by Global 100 (The American Lawyer and Legal Business).

Sattar&Co., located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is an independent legal practice founded in 2012 by Sameer Sattar, who previously practiced law in London. The firm offers services in 24 legal disciplines and is focused on local companies and corporations headquartered abroad but doing business in Bangladesh. Sattar&Co. attorneys work across practice areas to provide clients with comprehensive service.

SRS Advogados is a full-service law firm with more than 100 attorneys specializing in 12 practice areas. Based in Lisbon, Portugal, the firm focuses on both national and international matters. Among its recent accolades, SRS Advogados was honored in 2013 with three “Law Firm of the Year” awards from Global Law Experts; an “Overall Law Firm of the Year” award by Acquisition International; and its employment practice area received a “Top-tier” recommendation from The Legal 500 legal guide.

Vidan Law Office is a 10-year-old law office based in Zagreb, Croatia. The firm caters to companies headquartered in Croatia, as well as foreign entities that operate in or would like to do business in the country. In addition to his active employment law practice, firm founder Hrvoje Vidan is an elected judge in the Croatian Bar Association, where he decides disciplinary matters and serves as an appointed arbitrator for domain name dispute resolution.

With the additions of Garrigues, Sattar&Co., SRS Advogados and the Vidan Law Office, the ELA now encompasses 141 law firms with more than 3,000 attorneys across six continents in more than 135 countries.

Reflecting on the benefit of joining the organization, Vicente Calle, partner at Garrigues noted, “The ELA will allow us to raise the bar for our client service. Through this network, we will be able to serve our clients’ needs with the most creative and innovative lawyers and solutions in employment and labor law. Being part of such a comprehensive network, therefore, is a further commitment towards our clients’ success.”
