Eight U.S. member firms of the Employment Law Alliance – Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew, P.C. (Vermont); Fortney & Scott, LLC (District of Columbia); Hirschfeld Kraemer LLP (California); Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP (Arizona); Miller Nash Graham & Dunn LLP (Oregon & Washington); Partridge Snow & Hahn LLP (Rhode Island); Shawe Rosenthal LLP (Maryland); and Tueth Keeney Cooper Mohan Jackstadt P.C. (Missouri) – have joined an amicus curiae brief in the pending U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit matter Washington v. Trump.
The participating firms explained to the Ninth Circuit the impact of the Executive Order on member firms’ clients: hindering employee travel, impacting recruiting, threatening business development and leaving higher education institutions in the U.S. both unable to ensure the mobility and safety of their students and faculty abroad and affected by the loss of visiting researchers.
