SyCipLaw contributed the Philippine chapter of the latest edition of Lexology Panoramic: Tax Controversy. The chapter was co-authored by Senior Partner and Head of the Tax Department Carina C. Laforteza, Partner Ronald Mark C. Lleno, and Associate Jamsankin Persian D. Orteza.

The Philippine chapter provides an overview of the country’s legal and regulatory landscape on tax administration and controversies, covering compliance and enforcement, cooperation between tax and other authorities, penalties and the scope of its application, rights of taxpayers, and available court actions. It also highlights emerging trends in the enforcement of tax controversies, including the continued shift toward digitalization. This is reflected in the recent laws passed such as the Ease of Paying Taxes Act.
