The Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) recently launched “Ethics: Enduring or Evolving?”, the second installment of the FINEX Ethics Committee's book project focused on ethical challenges and issues of ethics in business. It includes an article on “Digital Ethics and the Philippine Law” by SyCipLaw Senior Partner and TMT expert Rose Marie M. King-Dominguez.

In the article, Ms. King-Dominguez touches on trends in digital ethics issues, from algorithms in AI to fake news, and notes whether aspects of that ongoing discussion are already reflected in current local law and to what extent.

Other contributors to the volume include Department of Trade & Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual, SEC Commissioner Kelvin Lester Lee, former SEC Chair Teresita Herbosa, and former Philippine Economic Zone Authority Chair Lilia de Lima; the foreword was contributed by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Felipe M. Medalla and Securities Exchange Commission Chairman Emilio B. Aquino. FINEX stalwart, Rey C. Lugtu was editor-in-chief of the compilation.

FINEX published the first edition, called “Ethics: Black, White, or Gray”, in 2018.

Interested parties may secure a copy of the book by contacting Alec Santiago or Alex Canon of FINEX at 8811 4052. For more information on FINEX, you may visit www.finex.org.ph.
