André Istad Johansen is one of Norway's leading experts within employment law and pensions. André has worked continuously with employment law since 1998. André advises large Norwegian and international clients on all employment-law related matters. André is known for his success in handling complex reoganisations, downsizings and transactions, and his ability to solve such processes without disputes with employees, and within the client's cost limits.
André has built up his expertise within pension law from working for public and private pension funds and as an adviser to large companies in connection with company pension reforms and scheme amendments. He also advises on other areas of business law, in particular to industrial and commercial enterprises focusing on building materials and electronics.
André is ranked among Norway's leading experts within employment law and pensions by the international rating agencies Chambers, The Legal 500 and Who's Who Legal.
André is a strong communicator and is widely used as a lecturer for fellow lawyers within the employment and pension law community and for law students. He is a member of the specialist organisation European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA) and he is the Norwegian correspondent for the organisation's publication: European Employment Law Cases (EELC). André is also an external examiner within employment law at the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo.
