With over 12 years of experience, Katie Priest is a Shareholder in the firm’s Employment Law section, specializing in employer representation across a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, airline, healthcare, grocery and retail, employee staffing, and financial services. She provides expert counsel to businesses of all sizes on a variety of employment-related matters, including hiring, employee management, terminations, and compliance with state and federal laws. Ms. Priest also defends clients against claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, and wage disputes. Additionally, she assists in drafting and enforcing employment agreements and policies tailored to the specific needs of each industry she serves.
With substantial litigation experience in state and federal courts, Ms. Priest defends companies against claims under Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, and the Utah Uniform Trade Secrets Act. She regularly represents clients before the Utah Anti-Discrimination and Labor Division (UALD) and the EEOC.
Ms. Priest serves as the NextGen representative for Utah in Employment Law Alliance, a global network of premier labor, employment, and immigration attorneys. Through this network, she offers comprehensive legal services across multiple jurisdictions worldwide. Additionally, Ms. Priest has experience representing clients before other state and federal agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission, Utah Division of Consumer Protection, and the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. She currently serves as a member of the firm’s Associates’ Committee.
