In June, the Pierce Atwood Employment Group held a four-part series on employment law basics for HR professionals.

This series introduced HR professionals to the most significant federal employment laws – i.e., Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

They summarized the specific legal requirements imposed on covered workplaces by each law and discussed how to comply with these complex requirements. They also held a session devoted to the legal issues related to offer letters, various employment agreements, and the employee handbook.

Throughout the program, real-world scenarios were used to illustrate how these legal obligations affect what you do as HR professionals.
