Ms. Lu Zhen (Jane) joined JunHe LLP in 2011 and is based in the firm’s Shanghai office. Ms. Lu advises domestic and international clients on contentious and non-contentious PRC labor law and industrial relations issues, as well as data privacy and data protection related laws and market practice. She has extensive experience assisting companies with mass layoffs and workforce restructuring projects. On the contentious side, Ms. Lu has acted for large multinational companies in labor dispute arbitration and litigation cases and regularly appears before labor arbitration tribunals and courts.

She has extensive experience assisting companies with data privacy compliance and data cross-border transfer projects.  Ms. Lu assists companies with their human resource compliance issues, data privacy and data protection compliance. She has experience in areas such as the employment of senior management, remuneration, incentives, flexible hiring arrangements, confidentiality and non-competition, anti-harassment, anti-discrimination, the employment of foreigners in China and EHS/ESG issues. She excels at drafting and revising labor related policies and documents as well as data privacy documents.

In 2016, Ms. Lu was selected as a “New Star Lawyer” by the internationally renowned legal rating agency, Legal 500. In 2018, she spent three months on secondment at A&L Goodbody Solicitors in Ireland, focusing on employment law and GDPR related areas.  Ms. Lu regularly speaks on employment and data privacy laws.
