Jumoke Lambo is a Partner in the law firm of Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie. Jumoke heads the Immigration, Business Establishment and Advisory teams, and co-heads the firm’s Telecommunications, Media and Technology (“TMT”), Aviation, Corporate Advisory and Labour and Employment teams. She also oversees Alsec Nominees Limited, the firm’s company secretarial practice.

Admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1989, Jumoke Lambo obtained an LL.B degree from Bristol University in 1988. She joined Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie as an Associate in 1989, became a Senior Associate in 1998 and was made partner in 2000. Jumoke has over three decades’ experience in telecommunications law, data protection, cybersecurity, employment law, immigration law and general corporate practice with an emphasis on corporate advisory, legislative drafting, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, corporate restructuring, regulatory compliance, and due diligence.

She was a member of the consortium of international experts whose services were retained by the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the BPE, to exhaustively review and modify Nigeria’s legal and regulatory framework for its Telecommunications sector. The team later went on to draft the comprehensive legislation for the sector, the Nigerian Communications Act 2003. She continues to assist various companies within the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors with establishing and doing business in Nigeria.

Jumoke advises a variety of investors on the acquisition of interests in Nigerian companies and regulatory compliance. She has also assisted clients with generating employment and end-of-employment documentation, negotiation and settling of employment-related contractual and trade disputes, and advising on employee issues in the context of bankruptcies, company liquidations, mergers, acquisitions, divestments and restructuring.

Jumoke regularly offers her expertise at conferences and seminars where she moderates panels, gives talks, and delivers papers on a variety of areas, including telecommunications, cybercrimes, foreign investment in Nigeria, doing business in Nigeria, employment law and environmental law.

Jumoke Lambo is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association, as well as a fellow of the Centre for International Legal Studies (“CILS”). She sits on the boards of several companies and charitable organisations and is also noted for her pro bono work.

She was recently named the Most Outstanding [individual] in Employment Law Services by Corporate Livewire. She is also recognised by the Nigerian edition of Who’s Who Legal for her M&A practice. Her work has been noted in the International Financial Law Review’s Expert Guides, the Global Legal Group Guides and Getting the Deal Through Guides.
