Locke Lord Partner and President of the American Bar Association Paulette Brown has been elected as a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. According to the College, election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by one’s colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence. The 21st installation of Fellows will be held Nov. 12, 2016, in Chicago. With its current installation, the College is represented by more than 1,400 members in 48 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and eight Canadian provinces. “Paulette’s election is not only well-deserved recognition of her exemplary reputation and talent as a practitioner in the field of labor and employment law, but also for the broader, substantial leadership role she plays in helping shape the legal profession nationally,” said Jerry Clements, Chair of Locke Lord. "It is an honor to be elected into this prestigious organization and counted among a distinguished group of talented individuals," said Brown. "It is humbling to be recognized by my peers and I look forward to a long, productive association with The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers."

Brown is a Labor and Employment Partner based in Locke Lord’s Morristown office and Co- Chair of the Firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee. For nearly 40 years, Brown has focused her practice on all facets of labor and employment and commercial litigation. Prior to entering private practice, she held a number of positions, including in-house counsel to Fortune 500 companies and as a Municipal Court judge. Brown has been recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of the prominent women and minority attorneys in the State of New Jersey and by the National Law Journal as one of "The 50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America." She has also repeatedly been named by US News as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the area of Commercial Litigation. Brown was named to the EBONY Power 100 List in 2014 and one of the country’s “Most Influential Black Lawyers” by Savoy Magazine.

Headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers was founded in 1995 as a non-profit professional association honoring the country’s leading Labor and Employment lawyers. It has evolved to become an intellectual and practical resource for  labor lawyers and their many audiences.
