Angelo Zambelli is a Co-Managing partner, member of the Executive Committee and head of the Employment and Industrial Relations Department of Grimaldi Studio Legale.
He amassed an outstanding reputation in employment and labour law, industrial relations and issues relating to agency contracts and labour law disputes. He has acquired in-depth knowledge in the planning and implementation of extraordinary finance operations and restructuring plans, including the reorganization and downsizing of the Italian subsidiaries of domestic and international groups. Mr Zambelli works side by side with clients advising them on handling complicated industrial relations matters and often represents companies during negotiations.
After earning his JD magna cum laude at the Università degli Studi of Milan in 1987, Mr Zambelli became a member of the Italian Bar Association in 1992. Since 2004, he is qualified to plead before the higher courts as well as the Italian Supreme Court.
He is an established lecturer at many conferences organized by Il Sole 24 Ore, AIDP (Associazione Italiana per la Direzione del Personale; Italian Association of HR Managers), AGI (Associazione Giuslavoristi Italiani; Italian Employment Lawyers Association), EELA (European Employment Lawyers Association), IBA (International Bar Association), ELA (Employment Law Alliance) and ABA (American Bar Association).
He’s the sole Italian representative for ELA and a member of AGI, AIDP, EELA, IBA, ELA and ABA. He’s also a member of the main international legal directories.

He has been ranked among the top 30 leader lawyers in Italy, according to Legalcommunity and GQ magazine published by Condé Nast - which have listed professionals who stand out for managerial skills, strategic vision and media impact.
He won the award as Best Lawyer of the Year at the Legalcommunity Labour Awards 2017, 2015 and 2014 editions, as well as the award as Best Lawyer of the Year for Industrial Relations and Trade Unions (2012 and 2013 editions). Mr Zambelli has recently received the Le Fonti award as Employment Lawyer of the Year 2018.
In addition, his department has been awarded as Best Practice Restructuring (2018) and as Law Firm of the Year - Labour Restructuring (2016) at the Legalcommunity Labour Awards.
According to a survey made by Legalcommunity, it has resulted that since the last four years Mr. Zambelli is one of the five employment lawyers to have been classified as a “star” in the labour market in Italy, being one of the lawyers who has obtained the highest number of positive comments and referrals from important stakeholders in the market, including competitors.
In 2018, Who’s Who legal has included Mr Zambelli among the four “Most Highly Regarded” lawyers in Italy with regard to Labour, Employment and Benefits.
